The Art & Practice of Letting Go

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”  ― Lao Tzu
Internal and external clutter gunks us up, drains our energy, weakens our power, and diminishes our ability to enjoy life.

The more we lean into what we desire and what's most important, the more we are invited to...
...choose new thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

As we usher in the new, we can make space for it by letting go of the things that no longer serve us. By honing into the energy of our desired future, we can make a game of releasing anything that is not a match.

When letting go of something (regardless of whether it is tangible or intangible) the first step is to recognize how it shows up in our internal and external environment.

We can ask ourselves questions like:
Is this something I can control or influence?  Is this something I enjoy?  Does this hurt or help? What's the value of keeping this?  What's the value of letting it go?

When we become attached to old thoughts, beliefs, feelings, emotions, patterns, programming, etc. that keep us stuck in past traumas and upsets, or worry thoughts that project catastrophe into the future, we miss out on the gifts of the present moment; that magical space that is both continuous and fleeting.

For every new awareness, I invite you to expand your allowance and give yourself grace. This is about practice and process, not perfection.

Letting go is an art because each of us will engage in the process in a unique way.  Still, the more we practice building our awareness of what is, what we would like to keep, add, and let go of, the more we are able to experience greater lightness of being.

Letting go is an integral part of creating what's next.  It is part of how we reflect and express our story, as well as create it forward.

Could you use some assistance with this, so you can become what's next? Join the Coaching Collective for daily Letting Go prompts this month and let's chat.
