Today we celebrate the life and legacy of one of our great leaders, Martin Luther King, Jr. With his, "I have a dream," speech he touched the hearts and minds of those living and those yet to come. His dream was one of passion, possibility and a vision for greater. What better day to ask you, "What's your dream?"*
Dreams get our creative process started, pulling from imagination, intuition, and whatever else we are able to tap into. From there, we...
Dreams get our creative process started, pulling from imagination, intuition, and whatever else we are able to tap into. From there, we...
...begin to envision how this dream might unfold, or experiences that we would like to have along the way. Then, we act, inspired by what can be and what the dream is requiring us to become. By continuously (and curiously) flowing between our dreams, vision, and action, we transform our dreams into reality. It may not always show up exactly as we saw it, and yet, when we continue to move in alignment with it, what shows up will be in harmony with it.
As a child it was easy to dream. As I got older, I noticed that I had to consciously make time for it and nurture my imagination to freely explore outside the comfort of my everyday life. And yet, all change, all growth, all new things, by definition, exist just past the edge of everything I am choosing now. The first step in courageously going for it, is to see it there on the horizon.
For years, I created vision boards at the turn of the year. There was even a time when I held classes annually, having lots of fun creating boards for the upcoming year through mutual sharing and laughter. I have missed this process, having taken a break from it over the last few years. This year, I am back at it, and I invite you to jump into the experience with me this Friday via Zoom, from 10:30am-12:00pm CST.
Together, let's stir up that creativity and imagination to reignite those dreams, express them through our vision, and lean into what's next through action.
What's your dream? What's your vision? What does 2023 hold in store? I want to hear it and help you create a visual compass for the year.
Come play?
